Salted Caramel Coconut Milkshakes

Sometimes when you shoot food it's ok to get a little bit messy...

That is exactly what happened on a testing shoot that I (Nikki) did with the talented food stylist and recipe developer, Jim Rude.  I have had the pleasure of working with Jim on numerous projects for clients such as Jennie O Turkey, Farmer John's and Black Label Bacon.  While brainstorming for this project, Jim and I wanted to do something fun for summer and decided on two shakes and a stacked brownie recipe with plenty of salted caramel.  As Jim would say, "Tall, messy and lots of wow."  As you can imagine shooting anything with real ice-cream that starts to melt and change consistency immediately once you get it on set can be very challenging.  Add to that lots of ooey-gooey salted caramel and you have a lot of moving parts to capture.  After a little problem solving, teamwork, and a lot of caramel sauce we got our final, "beauty" image.  In the end we had a very successful day and walked away with three final beauty shots and a few extras... #tasteofsummer

Daiya Foods Website Photography

Earlier this year I (Nikki) had the pleasure of working on a project for Daiya Foods that encompassed tabletop recipes, sets, and models.  With the help of the studio team, agency and clients, the shoot went off without a hitch and we all had a lot of fun.  Now that the new website has launched, I am excited to share all of the hard work with everyone!

While shooting Aaliyah we had fun jamming out to kids music and making a mess with "cheezy" macaroni.

Creating an outdoor backyard scene in the studio during one of the coldest months of the year had everyone smiling.

We had fun throwing sprinkles around and making a mess for this cupcake shot.  Because after all, sometimes the best creativity is messy.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the shoot such a success, I look forward to many more!
